DR ED H-JERVISOphthalmologist
Ed is an Ophthalmologist and Partner at the Ear and Eye Clinic, Meyersdal, Johannesburg.

Ed graduated from Hilton College in 1991 and then from the University of the Witswatersrand with a MBBCH Medicine in 1998. He went on to complete his FC Ophth (SA), Ophthalmology Residency Program at St John Eye Hospital from 2003 – 2008. Ed also attended the European Vitreoretinal School in Bremen Germany in 2008.

Before starting The Ear and Eye Clinic in September 2018, Ed worked at Optimed Eye Hospital (July 2008 – August 2018).

He has special interests Vitreoretinal surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, cataract and refractive surgery and macular degeneration.

Ed is married to Carolyn and they have four children. Outside of family and work, he enjoys competing in triathlons as well as the individual disciplines of swimming, cycling and running.

DR TONY DOS RAMOSOphthalmologist
Tony is an Ophthalmologist and Partner at the Ear and Eye Clinic, Meyersdal, Johannesburg.

Tony graduated from CBC in 1995 and then from the University of Pretoria with a MBChB Medicine in 2001. He went on to complete his Diploma in Ophthalmology in 2006 and then did his FC Ophth (SA), Ophthalmology Residency Program at WITS University from 2006 – 2010

Tony earned Honor titles with the Justin van Selm Medal issued by The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa as the top exam candidate for his year of qualification.

Before joining The Ear and Eye Clinic as a partner in September 2018, Tony worked at the Optimed eye hospital from 2010 till August of 2018.

Tony has a special interest in Corneal and cataract surgery and has attended courses at Moorfields eye hospital London (Refractive surgery 2010), Lamellar corneal surgery in Italy with Masimo Busin (2013), and DMEK surgery course with Dr Melles (2015 NIIOS center Netherlands).

DR CAROLINE GOODINGOphthalmologist
Caroline is an Ophthalmologist and Partner at the Ear and Eye Clinic, Meyersdal, Johannesburg.

Caroline graduated from Hyde Park High in 1999 and then from the University of the Witswatersrand with a MBBCH Medicine in 2005. She went on to complete her MMed (Ophth), FC Ophth (SA), Ophthalmology Residency Program at Stellenbosch University from 2009 – 2013, graduating Cum Laude.

Caroline was awarded the Justin van Selm Medal issued by The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa for the most outstanding candidate in the College Fellowship examination as well as Best Master’s Student in a Structured Qualification issued by the Stellenbosch University in May 2013.

Before joining The Ear and Eye Clinic in September 2018, Caroline worked at the Tygerberg Hospital Stellenbosh University (Feb 2009 – Jan 2013), Dr. Etienne van Aswegen (Feb 2013 – July 2014) and Optimed Eye Hospital (Sep 2014 – August 2018).

Caroline is the current president of the South African Society of Oculoplastic Surgeons (SASOPS). Her special interests include oculoplastic surgery, cataract surgery, strabismus, paediatric ophthalmology and medical retina.

Caroline is married and has two daughters.

DR TARUNA ROWJEE Ophthalmologist
Taruna graduated from Nirvana Secondary School in 1999 and then from the University of the Witwatersrand with a MBBCh Medicine in 2005. She completed her ophthalmology residency program, FC Ophth (SA), at the University of the Witwatersrand from 2010-2013.

Taruna was awarded the Elie Dahan Registrar of the year in 2013. She completed her Mmed degree in 2017.

Before joining the Ear and Eye Clinic, Taruna did an Observership in May 2014 in Paediatric Ophthalmology at the Red Cross Children’s hospital in Cape Town. She then worked independently until joining the Ear and Eye Clinic in September 2018.

Taruna has special interests in Cataract surgery, Strabismus, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-ophthalmology, Glaucoma and Medical Retina.

Taruna is married and has 2 children.

DR FRANCESCA INDIVERIOphthalmologist
Francesca is an ophthalmologist at the Ear and Eye clinic, Meyersdal and is also a consultant ophthalmologist at St John Eye Hospital, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic hospital.

Francesca matriculated from St Andrew’s school in 2004, and thereafter completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree at the University of the Witwatersrand. She received her specialist training in ophthalmology at the University of the Witwatersrand and was awarded the Elie Dahan Ophthalmology Registrar of the Year prize in 2018. She received her Fellowship in Ophthalmology from the Colleges of Medicine and Surgery of South Africa and completed her Masters in Medicine in 2018. Francesca was the recipient of the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa’s prestigious Research Paper prize in 2018.

She is currently head of the Glaucoma Unit at St John Eye Hospital, and is also part of the Cornea Unit. Her special interests include corneal disease and corneal transplantation, glaucoma surgery, cataract surgery as well as medical retina.
